I was disappointed with this interaction. I was told I needed to replace my entire HVAC box. I took my vehicle to a different shop in town and they only needed to connect a cable for the heat to work in the car cabin and not replace the HVAC. Matt's had quoted $1300 for the replacement and labor. The other shop was done in 90 mins and cost $157.
Jacob, thank you so much for taking time to leave us a review about your recent service! We appreciate all of our reviews, good or bad, because it allows us to learn and continue to provide exceptional service. We have attempted to reach out to you several times in regards to the review but were unable to reach you. We wanted to take an opportunity to explain your visit. We are first, so happy, that you were able to get your issue resolved. It is always our goal to be the ones to do that for you but understand that sometimes we can’t help everyone. When our lead master tech, Bruce, inspected your vehicle he found the door the other shop was able to repair, hanging out of place. The repair we suggested was to remove your HVAC box and repair as necessary. The estimate we gave you was to replace the box as a worst case scenario, so you had all the information going into the repair that could happen. We strive to provide repairs that will last and putting the door back in place may have solved your issue, we were worried it may not be a lasting repair, causing you more repair visits and expenses. The question that came to mind was, why did the door fall out of place in the first place, and that was where our recommendations were sourced from. We do apologize that we did not give you the option to repair the vehicle this way, but we do hope this explanation makes sense. We hope you have a fantastic week and if you would like to discuss this further, please reach out to us at 701-478-3838. Thank you!
